Graduating from an American university puts a ticket to higher salaries in your hand. Studying in the United States presents an opportunity to improve the English language skills and to develop relationships among students from every corner of the world. Studying outside the Polish border gives students the chance to have a first-hand contact with foreign cultures and customs.
I graduated from HOLY CROSS COLLEGE, majoring in POLITICAL SCIENCE in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts.
How did the college ethics influence your educational process?
I want to stress that the college is run by the Jesuits, so the great emphasis is put on ethical values.
Is it true that American educational institutions put a strong emphasis on practical classes and group exercises?
Yes, it is true, student’s initiatives and creativity are very important. Every student is treated subjectively and has every right to develop their skills and interests. Through studying in groups students integrate with themselves, develop their passions and also learn responsibility for one another.
After passing the secondary final examination going abroad was a difficult decision to make. Studying at an American college was a great challenge for me. A entirely new surrounding, a new culture and this prevailing feeling “Will I manage?”
As it turned out the easy availability of our professors as well as of many practical classes and presentations were not the only conveniences offered by colleges in the USA. Thanks to sensibly scheduled subjects and class timetables I can develop my passion, that is, synchronic swimming. Every day I can find some time for training and meeting friends for gossip, and during weekends I usually go away to sports competitions which enable me to visit the United States.
I think that the decision on studying in the USA was the right one and I now I can fulfill my dreams.
